I'm not much of a winter weather girl. I hate being cold (which is rough, considering that I live with Completely Jacked Up Body Temperature Man and his 8-year-old fire minion, who demand that we keep the house at a toasty 65 degrees), but we have done a little of this this winter:
But then Sister Wife (a.k.a. Cole's besty Jed) talked us into getting swim passes at the Quality Inn in Payson, so instead of either freezing our buns off outside or sitting on the couch like slugs, we're surviving the cold weather by doing lots of this:
Awwww... look how happy those two little lovebirds are. And I'm not talking about Caulder and Irie.
The pool is a bit cold, so this little muggins and I spend a lot of time warming up in the hot tub, which really works out nicely for me.
And this boy has gone swimming crazy. When he was a baby we couldn't put him in the bathtub without him screaming bloody murder. He was 7 before he'd even consider a shower, because he hated having the tiniest bit of water splash his face. Last summer we could barely get him to put his face under water, and he would NEVER get in without a life jacket on. And now suddenly he's life jacket-less, diving under, swimming all the way across the pool, and even... wait for it... JUMPING OFF THE EDGE INTO THE POOL. Shut up. I swear. I have the video to prove it. It's radical.
But I think the greatest part of all of this is that we split a monthly pass with Sister Wife, and this is how the staff filled out our cards.
Cole McClellan. After nearly 36 years of waiting, it finally happened. January 27, 2014, will officially go down in history as the best day of Cole and Jed's lives.
