Winter Running 2025-2026

I don't have a lot of great hiking/running pictures from this season. It was weirdly warm... until April. But the warmer weather did make it so that we were able to hike up to Timpanogos Falls (I think that's it's name? Upper and Lower Falls?). It was so pretty.

This is The Grotto during the one cold week we had in about January. The little creek was completely iced over.

Caulder Speaketh... Grown Up Version

Caulder: I love dinnertime. It’s my third favorite time of day.

Cole: What’s your second favorite? 

Caulder: Bedtime. 

Me: My man!

Cole: You and your freakin’ mom. What’s your first favorite time of day? 

Caulder, with an eyebrow raise: Party time. 

It's official. I’m a whole ass adult. 

Cole: Will it bug you if I vacuum? 

Caulder: You do what you gotta do, Papa. Lord knows when a man’s gotta vacuum, a man’s gotta vacuum. 

Caulder, eating birria tacos at Disneyland: If these tacos are anything like heaven I need to start repenting. 

Cole: I’ve heard you get these tacos in heaven, but there's no line. 

Caulder: I need to talk to a bishop, uhhhhh now! 

March 2026

Books and buddies day at the school.

Our first mountain bike ride of the season.

Rand's new stuffy prison, because they are taking over the entire house.

Rand made his famous hot chocolate, and we immediately got diabetes. Worth it. 

Craft night with sculpting clay. Why is my hair so frizzy, you might ask? Because I have to fry it with half the hair dye in North America to keep my grey covered up. SHUT UP ABOUT IT!

June's 21st surprise birthday party. It was Twilight themed, and we were all commanded to dress up like Bella's dad. Just because I can't remember his name doesn't mean I'm not a super fan or that I lost—badly—in every trivia game Jess set up for us to play. But daaang, your girl can rock a mustache. Which is good, because... perimenopause facial hair growth is real.  SHUT UP ABOUT IT!

Some kind of candied fruit Rand and I made. We scored it 2 out of 10 for taste, but it was fun to make.

Rand did the AIM piano competition this year for the first time. He was so brave! And he did great. He earned the highest ranking! His reward? A donut the size of his head.

The Rosenbabies hung out with us one Saturday, and we loved it.

And Soos's paranoia continues to grow. He refuses to trust Cole's mustache. He is both wise and anxiety-ridden.

 

Goblin Valley, Part 2

While we were in Goblin Valley Cole and Rand found a sand cave and took us all to explore it. 

Rand and The Babe had some quality time on a hill. 

We saw a beautiful sunset.

But the best part of Goblin Valley was, of course, exploring the hoodoos in the park. We played an epic game of banana tag that almost killed me—I'm a distance runner, not a sprinter! Let's be honest... I'm not even a distance runner anymore. I'm a slow-strolling hiker. But I can slow stroll the crap out of some trails. 😂

Goblin Valley, Part 1

We finally got Rand back down to Goblin Valley. The weather was perfect, it wasn't super busy yet, and we got a super cool campsite. 

We went mountain biking, hiked Little Wild Horse slot canyon, had an Easter egg hunt in the desert, Yaya brought Rand his own tiny watermelon, and we ate cobbler around the campfire.
