Thanksgiving Point

We had a play date with Yaya, Benny and Aunt Rylee in April at Thanksgiving Point.

We went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity.

The new butterfly biosphere.

The petting zoo.

And the dinosaur museum.

But the best part of the entire day was trying to cram everyone into the photo booth. Apparently there's a limit to the number of people who will fit. Who knew?

I laughed so hard I almost peed. I mean, I guess that's not saying much after 3 kids and turning 40. But I laughed really hard.

The Unforgivable Crime

I was severely reprimanded and told, “if you do that again, I’m going to get really mad.” My heinous crime? Locking the door when I went to the bathroom. Then he threw a package of hot dogs under the door at me.

Truly, the punishment fits the crime.

On Today's Episode of Car Conversations with Tukk

When I die, I want to get a bench by my grave with the saying, "Sometimes you order a taco and they only bring you one nacho."

Mom, isn't there a word for women that's like hoses or something?

The Old Broads Turn 40

Some of my besties from high school decided it was time for a reunion. We were all turning 40, so we figured it was long overdue.

From left to right is me, Becky, Miki, and April.

The reunion trip was sparked from this ancient picture of us at Payson Lakes.

April had decided she was going to kick her smoking habit (she had a LOT going on back then... she can be excused for having a cig addiction at 17). So she broke her cigarettes in half up the canyon as a symbol for her fresh start in life.

30 minutes later she desperately needed a smoke, so she found a first aid kit in her car and band-aided them back together.

Man, I love that girl.

We realized a reunion was years overdue, so we booked a house in Malibu and spent 4 glorious days catching up and laughing til we hurt and crying and laughing some more.

It had been such a long time since we'd all been together, but we picked right back up where we'd left off like it had only been a week.

The house had the most beautiful view.

Plus it was close to this beach. Major bonus.

We relaxed on the beach and cooked at the house and (almost) did a hike to find the superbloom fields. There was such a beautiful show of flowers right off the side of the road that we decided the hike wasn't really even necessary.

It was one of those rare weekends that really feeds your soul.

Sure am lucky to still have these women in my life, even after all these years. I will NOT let another 20 years go by before we do this again.

You Guys. I'm 40.

I turned 40 this year.

I have no idea how this happened.

Cole made sure I turned 40 in style. Humiliation style.

I got some new jewelry.

And a piece of Great Wall of Chocolate cake from PF Chang's. It is soooo good.

I even got a churro purse from Yaya. Because if there's one thing you need in this life, it's a purse shaped like a churro.

Happy 40th to me!

St. Geezy Girls' Trip

We finally resurrected the St. George girls' trip! We used to go every summer, but it's been years since we've been down to see ...
