I'm on baby #3. But more importantly, I'm on BOY #3. And yet sometimes I'm delusional enough to say things to myself, like "Surely I can turn my back on Rand for just long enough to wash this pan."
Or, "I see no reason why I shouldn't give him a large cup-like device in the bath. He's much too little to start drinking his own bathwater already." Glug.
Or, "I don't need to pay attention to what he's grabbing while I'm washing him in the bath. Of course he'll just be playing with the bath toys." And then he grabbed the bar of soap sitting on the side of the tub. It's amazing how much soap a determined child can eat with just a few teeth to help him out.
Note to self: The "I'll wash your mouth out with soap" threat will be meaningless with this one. He considers it a delicious appetizer.
"I have time to run and switch the laundry over before I pick up that Oreo cookie that fell on the floor. Rander won't find it first."
"Why strip him down before I feed him? This bib will do the trick."
"I don't need to worry about the coal bucket at my parents' house. I'm sure he won't eat it."
"Cole's plate is pushed back far enough. There's no way Rand could reach over and grab his entire baked potato."
"I don't need to to go check to make sure the bathroom door is shut."
"The cords dangling down from my computer pose no threat at all. That's just crazy talk."
"I just have to pee. How much damage could he do if I leave him by himself for 2 minutes?"
